University of Michigan-Dearborn Professor Receives Teaching Award

Dr. Joy E. Beatty, Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the University of Michigan-Dearborn's School of Management, has received the 2007 New Educator Award from the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society.

This national award is presented annually to recognize a professor early in their career who has shown promise to make a difference in the field of management education. These creative individuals demonstrate teaching excellence and scholarship with commitment and service to the profession.

The award was presented at the 2007 Organizational Behavior Teaching Society Conference held at Pepperdine University. The Organizational Behavior Teaching Society is a professional association that fosters the scholarship of teaching through the development and dissemination of educational resources, including best practices and experiential pedagogy. It also promotes appreciation and support for teaching.

Beatty received her doctorate in organization studies from Boston College in 2004 and has taught at UM-Dearborn for three years. She teaches organizational behavior and management skills development, and her current research focuses on diversity and management education.
