FAQs about Admissions

The University of Michigan-Dearborn MS-Finance degree thrives on the quality of its faculty, students, staff, and alumni.  We seek students with academic ability and strong managerial potential, looking to gain the specialized financial knowledge and skills that they can apply throughout a long and successful career.  An undergraduate degree in business is not required; we accept applicants from all academic backgrounds.  Successful students will possess the motivation and ability to lead, to be a team member, to conceptualize business issues from several perspectives, to understand and analyze complex problems, and find creative and appropriate solutions.  Many MS-Finance students have earned previous graduate degrees, and an increasing number are pursuing the MBA/MS-Finance dual degree program.

Applying to the MS-Finance is a straightforward process, and our admissions team is here to help you with your questions along the way. We appreciate that pursuing a graduate degree is an important decision and means a significant investment of time and effort. We invite you to schedule an appointment to meet with an admissions counselor or current student to help answer any questions you may have during the application process.
