“Choosing To Be a Leader”
Presentation by:
Reverend Faith Fowler Executive Director
The University of Michigan-Dearborn Emerging Leaders Program offers our cooperative education/internship students a unique opportunity to develop personal leadership knowledge and skills. Building on the concepts developed by Peter Senge in his book “The Fifth Discipline”, students are given the opportunity over two semesters to meet with community leaders, work in small teams and develop personal leadership skills. The program culminates with a Leadership Summit where we invite community leaders to come to campus and share their perspectives of leadership with the ELP participants. The Leadership Summit is an opportunity for our students to have direct access to several community leaders while also serving as a celebration event to wrap up the two semester process. The Summit is organized and run by the students in the program.
